Originally initiated by Augustus the Strong in 1728 for breeding pheasants for royal hunts and feasts, it features chinoiserie interiors with unique feather and straw wall coverings, a miniature harbor, lighthouse, and Venus Fountain, all restored in 2010–2013 to highlight its 18th-century opulence.
Owned by the Wettin family until 1945, it now offers exclusive guided tours showcasing its exotic decor and maritime-themed gardens, evoking the playful luxury of the Saxon court.
