Fischburg, also known as Castel Gardena, is a striking castle located in Val Gardena in South Tyrol, northern Italy.

It was built between 1622 and 1641 by the noble Wolkenstein family as a summer residence and hunting lodge, although its grand appearance resembles a medieval fortress. The castle's name, which means “fish castle,” comes from the fish ponds created nearby for trout farming. Over time, it served as an administrative center for the region before falling into decline during the 19th century.

In 1926, it was purchased and carefully restored by Baron Carlo Franchetti, whose family still owns it today. Surrounded by forests and the dramatic peaks of the Dolomites, Fischburg is admired for its Renaissance architecture, historic charm, and beautiful setting. Because it remains a private residence, it can generally only be viewed from the outside.
