Flathead Lake Alpine Coaster
Lakeside, Montana, United States
Flathead Lake Alpine Coaster is Montana’s first and only alpine (mountain) coaster, located just off U.S. Highway 93 about one mile north of Lakeside, on the western shore of Flathead Lake.
The ride carries guests up the hill about 1,000 feet on a lift line and then releases them onto nearly 4,000 feet of track where they control their own speed, reaching up to roughly 27 miles per hour while weaving through the forest with views toward the lake and surrounding mountains.
Designed for families and thrill‑seekers, it operates year‑round with windshields on the carts to protect riders from wind, rain, or snow, and is often paired with a nearby gem‑mining activity, making it a compact outdoor adventure stop between Whitefish and Glacier National Park.
