Förderverein Schloss Parchen e.V.
Genthin, Germany, Germany
Förderverein Schloss Parchen e.V. is a preservation association dedicated to maintaining Schloss Parchen, a neoclassical manor house in Parchen near Genthin, Germany, originally built in 1780 by the von Byern family on the site of a 13th-century ruined castle.
Expanded in 1830-1832 by architect Friedrich August Stüler after a devastating fire and redesigned with a 3.5-hectare landscape park by Peter Joseph Lenné, the castle served as a knight's estate until its 1945 expropriation under Soviet land reforms.
The nonprofit now operates a historical museum on regional knightly estates, hosts exhibitions, guided tours, cultural events, and film shoots while fundraising for restorations in the Jerichower Land area.
