Forte Stella is a distinctive star-shaped coastal fortress located above Porto Ercole on the Monte Argentario peninsula in Tuscany.

Built by the Spanish during the second half of the 16th century as part of the State of the Presidi defensive system, it was designed to protect the coastline and communicate with nearby forts and watchtowers through visual signals. The fortress is famous for its unique six-pointed star design, created under the direction of architects Bernardo Buontalenti and Giovanni Camerini.

Its elevated position provided strategic military advantages and offers sweeping views of the Tyrrhenian Sea and the surrounding coast. Today, Forte Stella is one of the best-preserved historic landmarks in the area and is open to visitors. Guests can explore its walls, walkways, and courtyards while enjoying spectacular panoramic views, and the fortress also hosts cultural events and art exhibitions throughout the year.
