Forte Altafiumara, also known as Forte di Santa Trada or Altafiumara Castle, is a historic fortress located on cliffs overlooking the Strait of Messina near Villa San Giovanni in Calabria.

Built in the 18th century during the Bourbon period, it was designed to help defend this strategically important stretch of coastline and monitor naval traffic between mainland Italy and Sicily. The fortress played a role in several historical events, including conflicts connected to the unification of Italy.

After suffering damage from earthquakes and losing its military importance, the structure gradually fell into decline before being restored in modern times. Today, the former fort has been transformed into a resort and cultural site while retaining much of its historic character. It is especially known for its spectacular views of the Strait of Messina, its scenic gardens, and its blend of military history and elegant architecture.
