Verified Foundation Arboretum Park Härle

Bonn, Germany, Germany

The Foundation Arboretum Park Härle (Stiftung Arboretum Park Härle) is a nonprofit arboretum and botanical garden covering 4.7 hectares, located on the slopes of the Rhine Valley between Bonn and the Seven Mountains in Oberkassel, Bonn, North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany.

The site was acquired in 1921 by jurist Dr. Carl Härle, who actively planted a wide variety of trees and shrubs, and after his death in 1950, his daughters Maria and Regina Härle maintained the property and willed it to a nonprofit foundation in 2000; in 1997, following the sisters' testamentary wishes, the charitable foundation was officially established.

The arboretum contains more than 800 varieties of trees and shrubs cultivated across nearly 5 hectares, featuring extensive collections of Chamaecyparis, Juniperus, Taxus, and Thuja, as well as roses and fine specimens including Acer griseum, Cornus controversa, Cupressus sempervirens, Juniperus deppeana, Pseudotsuga menziesii, and Quercus pyrenaica. The property consists of three distinct parts: the old park with historic buildings, the new park on grounds of a former nursery, and extensive woods with lawn and fruit trees.
