It features Frekhaug Manor, a protected rococo-style two-story log house built around the 1780s with a hipped roof and granite walls, originally purchased that year by skipper Cort Abrahamsen Holtermann and owned since 1914 by the Nordhordland home mission. The area includes schools like Meland Ungdomsskule and Nordhordland Folkehøgskule, blending residential life with historical and educational significance.
