Galeazza Castle
Galeazza, Italy, Italy
Galeazza Castle is a historic castle located in the hamlet of Galeazza, near Crevalcore in Emilia-Romagna.
Originally founded as a fortified stronghold in the 14th century, it later evolved into an elegant residence while retaining its imposing towers, walls, and medieval character. The castle became particularly notable for its Neo-Gothic transformation in the 19th century, which gave it much of its current appearance.
Richly decorated interiors, frescoed rooms, and its picturesque setting in the rural plain of northern Italy made it one of the region’s most distinctive historic estates. Severely damaged by the 2012 Emilia earthquakes, the castle has since undergone extensive restoration and reconstruction. Today, it is gradually reopening to visitors through guided tours and cultural events, allowing people to explore an important example of Emilia-Romagna’s architectural and historical heritage.
