Ganz
Pakistan, Pakistan
Ganz is a small, picturesque fishing village located in the far west corner of Balochistan, Pakistan, near the border with Iran, approximately 10 kilometers from Jiwani (the last coastline of Pakistan) and 90 kilometers from Gwadar.
The name "Ganz" (originally "Ganj," a Persian word meaning "treasure") is known for its stunning natural beauty, including unique mountain formations shaped like a palette, crystal-clear pure blue water, and one of the most beautiful beaches in Makran that remains largely untouched by mass tourism. Ganz Beach is famous for dolphin sightings, recommended surfing due to consistent tides and waves, and is home to Pakistan's most expensive fish, which can cost up to 500,000 rupees for a 10-kilogram fish.
The village has historical significance, believed to have been discovered by the Portuguese centuries ago who established a settlement there after a shipwreck, and some residents still have distinctive features like blue eyes from this heritage. According to the 2017 census, Ganz has 358 households with a population of about 1,599 people, and it remains primarily a fishing community where locals catch fish worth 500 to 1,500 rupees daily.
