Gardenview Horticultural Park in Strongsville, Ohio, was founded in 1949 by horticulturist Henry Ross, who transformed a plot filled with blackberry brambles and weeds into a vibrant English-style garden open to the public in 1961.

The park covers 16 acres, including 6 acres of English Cottage Gardens featuring plants with variegated, golden, silver, or colored foliage, and a 10-acre arboretum containing about 2,500 unusual trees and 500 varieties of flowering crabapples underplanted with daffodils. The gardens also boast azaleas, over 1,500 tuberous-rooted begonias, thousands of tulips, a cactus collection, and two serene ponds.

Gardenview has been recognized globally for its unique beauty and continues to operate as a nonprofit educational and recreational site. It welcomes visitors from spring through fall with formal plantings that reflect Ross’ dedication to horticultural innovation and natural charm.
