Gatorland
Southchase, Florida, United States
Gatorland is a 110‑acre combination theme park and wildlife preserve located in Southchase, Florida, just south of Orlando along the South Orange Blossom Trail.
It opened in 1949 and is still family‑owned, often called the “Alligator Capital of the World” because it is home to thousands of alligators and crocodiles, including several rare white individuals.
The park features elevated boardwalks over breeding marshes, a large free‑flight aviary, a petting zoo, nature walks, and a series of live animal shows where visitors can see gators leap out of the water and learn about reptiles and Florida wildlife.
In addition to the animals, Gatorland offers attractions such as zip‑line courses over the gator marsh, a train ride, and a gift shop, making it a popular, lower‑cost outdoor alternative to the major Central Florida theme parks.
