The Giardino delle Orchidee Spontanee del Mediterraneo is a botanical garden operated by the World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF) located inside the Palo Laziale Nature Reserve in Ladispoli, Province of Rome, Lazio, Italy, at Via Palo Laziale 2.
The garden specializes in wild Mediterranean orchids and focuses its collection on native orchid species, particularly from the genera Ophrys and Orchis. It was founded in 1984 with an initial donation of 10 Sardinian species from the Orto Botanico dell'Università di Cagliari and now contains approximately 350 specimens representing about 60 species, including rare specimens such as Orchis palustris, Ophrys apulica, Ophrys lunulata, and Ophrys ciliata, along with other plants like Asphodeline lutea, Dactylorhiza romana, Inula candida, Iris pseudopumila, and Spiranthes aestivalis.
The garden serves both conservation and educational purposes, protecting native orchid species and promoting awareness of Mediterranean wild flora, making it a unique botanical destination near the Tyrrhenian Sea coast north of Rome.
