The Gobustan Rock Art Cultural Landscape, located near Gobustan about 60 km southwest of Baku, Azerbaijan, is one of the world's most important prehistoric archaeological sites. Recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2007, it contains more than 6,000 rock engravings that document around 40,000 years of human history, from the Upper Paleolithic period to the Middle Ages. The site features remarkable depictions of hunting scenes, animals, boats, rituals, dances, and everyday life, along with ancient caves, settlements, and burial remains.
