Gulskogen in Drammen, Norway, is a beautifully preserved 18th-19th century manor estate along the Drammenselva river, originally acquired in 1794 by wealthy merchant Peter Nicolai Arbo and his wife Anne Cathrine Collett, who transformed the Søndre Skogen farm into a classical country villa with Anglo-Danish influences. They developed a 30-acre landscape park featuring Norway's only surviving linden tree labyrinth, a 265-meter lime tree alley, walnut groves, ponds, flower beds, and peacocks, while the main house and outbuildings evoke upper-class life of the era. Protected as cultural heritage and part of Drammens Museum since 1959, it offers guided tours of period interiors, digital exhibits, a relocated 19th-century boathouse, and public park access for picnics and events.
