Gut Hohenstein is a historic aristocratic manor estate in Barkelsby, Schleswig-Holstein, Germany, originally a meierhof outpost of Gut Hemmelmark until 1717, later owned by Detlev Friedrich von Rathlow and Johann Rudolph von Ahlefeldt before passing to the Milberg family in 1854.
Theodor Milberg and his wife Harriet expanded the Herrenhaus with neogothic and Swiss-style elements, creating a romantic landscape park with ponds and a tea house on the Eckernförde Bay cliffs, now privately owned and protected as a cultural monument.
The site houses Schleswig-Holstein's unique Gutsmuseum in three outbuildings displaying over 1,000 original farm artifacts, reflecting rural life from its 1791 founding under the von Gerlach family.
