After a 1757 fire destroyed its Baroque predecessor, justice counselor Peter Elieson erected the current Rococo-style main manor in 1761-1762, hosting pivotal events like the 1653 southern nobility meeting, King Christian V's 1685 visit, and 1814 independence gatherings for regent Christian Frederik.
