The Harrison Arboretum and Botany Pond, officially known as the Bertrand F. Harrison Arboretum, is located on the campus of Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah.
It spans several acres and features a diverse collection of native and non-native trees planted to represent different regions of the United States, including a giant sequoia from California and a bald cypress typical of the Gulf Coast. The arboretum, named after botany professor Bertrand F. Harrison who taught at BYU for 43 years until his retirement in 1974, serves as a place for study, relaxation, and reflection, with a winding brick path, a duck pond, and a stream enhancing its natural appeal.
It also includes an amphitheater donated by the university’s classes of 1980 and 1981 and remains open year-round as a peaceful green space within the urban campus setting.
