HasanAbad Castle, near the village of Hasan Abad south of Sanandaj in Iran's Kurdistan province, is a historic mountain fortress built in 1345 AD by Amir Hasan Khan Ardalan.

The castle served as a strategic military and administrative center for the Ardalan Kurdish rulers during the Safavid era. It is situated on a steep mountain slope with strong stone walls extending about 1100 meters in length, reaching heights from 200 to 400 meters, and includes defensive features like towers, ramparts, and stone fences made from local stone and mud mortar.

The castle was an important fortress during ancient wars between Iran and Rome and later witnessed conflicts during the Safavid period, which led to partial destruction ordered by the Safavid king. Archaeological finds near the site include ancient cemeteries and artifacts dating back thousands of years. HasanAbad Castle is registered as a national monument of Iran and remains a significant cultural and historical site with remnants of its military architecture still visible today.
