Hofstra Arboretum is located on the 244-acre campus of Hofstra University in Hempstead, New York.

Officially recognized as an arboretum in 1985, it is home to more than 12,000 evergreen and deciduous trees representing around 625 species and varieties of woody plants, including both native and exotic species. The arboretum serves as an educational and research resource, providing a beautiful environment for students, faculty, and visitors. The campus also includes a bird sanctuary developed on two acres, which acts as an educational model for New York State.

The arboretum reflects the legacy of the Hofstra family, who originally purchased the land in the early 1900s and cultivated it as an estate surrounded by diverse plantings. Today, it remains a vibrant green space that supports studies in botany, horticulture, and conservation, while offering seasonal beauty and opportunities for engagement with nature.​
