Now in its ninth generation under the Thormählen-Bockius family, it began as a small Buddelwirtschaft (pub) by the great-grandparents, evolving into a village hub for dining, dancing, cinema, and events, with expansions by grandparents Karl and Carla Thormählen converting stables to banquet rooms and the old hall to hotel space.

Today it offers 18 comfortable rooms, a terrace with canal views, regional cuisine by chef father-son duo Klaus and Benjamin Bockius, and facilities for up to 100 guests, blending tradition with modern hospitality just 15 minutes from Lübeck's old town.
