Husen Castle
Dortmund, Germany, Germany
Husen Castle in Dortmund-Syburg, Germany, is a well-preserved 13th-century medieval tower house originally built as the seat of the Husen noble family around 1259, later owned by the von Romberg barons whose coat of arms remains visible on the cellar wall.
Transformed in the 17th century from a defensive fortress into a residential manor spanning a 7,000-square-meter estate amid scenic Ruhr Valley trails, it now functions as a youth holiday home, campsite, and educational center managed by the Christian Scouts Association since 1984.
