Jagdschloß Friedrichsmoor
Neustadt-Glewe, Germany, Germany
Jagdschloß Friedrichsmoor in Neustadt-Glewe, Germany, is a charming Baroque hunting lodge nestled in the scenic Lewitz lowlands of Westmecklenburg.
Originally a simple log cabin built around 1704-1709 by Duke Friedrich Wilhelm I in Swedish style for royal hunts, it was replaced in 1791-1793 by the current timber-framed three-wing structure designed by architect Johann Christoph Heinrich von Seydewitz, featuring classical interiors and scenic views over ancient oaks and the Breite Graben stream.
Used exclusively for ducal hunting until 1918 and hosting figures like Bismarck and Kaiser Wilhelm, the protected landmark now operates as a hotel, restaurant, wedding venue, and event space amid peaceful forests.
