Jagdschloss Quitzin
Splietsdorf, Germany, Germany
Jagdschloss Quitzin in Splietsdorf, Germany, is a historic hunting lodge built in 1607 in Renaissance style on 13th-century castle vaults by Pommerscher Chancellor Erasmus von Küssow, later expanded into a Baroque structure around 1723.
First mentioned in 1457 as a ducal estate gifted by Pomeranian dukes, it hosted Swedish King Charles XII for hunts and passed through noble families like the Counts von Küssow until 1824, then von Veltheim until wartime losses.
After post-WWII use as a refugee camp and civil defense site, the Rübcke von Veltheim family reclaimed and restored it over 30 years, preserving it amid a romantic landscape park with a unique classical bathhouse ruin.
