Juist is a long, narrow car-free island in Germany's North Sea, part of the East Frisian Islands in Lower Saxony, and locals call it "Töwerland" (Magic Wonderland) because of its 17 kilometers of pristine beach stretching between the wild North Sea and the peaceful Wadden Sea mudflats.

The island is 17 kilometers long but only 500 meters to 1 kilometer wide, making it the longest of the East Frisian Islands, and it lies between Borkum to the west and Norderney to the east. Juist is famous for being completely car-free, with motor vehicles allowed only for the fire department, German Red Cross, and doctors, while visitors get around by foot, bicycle, or horse-drawn carriage.

Nature is the island's main attraction, featuring 17 kilometers of wide sandy beaches, dunes, mudflats perfect for walking, seal colonies at the east end, Lake Hammersee (a freshwater lake), and the Billreef sandbank where migratory birds like dunlins and knots rest. Tourism drives the island's economy, with nearly all buildings offering guestrooms, hotels, a youth hostel, spa treatments, and thalassotherapy, while the harbor serves as the main arrival point and the small airfield enables fast travel and drone deliveries.
