Juniper Level Botanic Garden
North Carolina, United States
Juniper Level Botanic Garden in Raleigh, North Carolina, was established in 1986 by Tony and Michelle Avent when they transformed a 2.2-acre abandoned tobacco field into a botanical garden focused on showcasing a vast diversity of ornamental plants.
The garden, known for its design philosophy of displaying "drifts of one" to emphasize individual plant species in relaxed, natural settings, has expanded to cover more than 28 acres, including various themed gardens such as woodland, bog, rock, and tropical gardens, along with water features like waterfalls and creeks. It features an extensive collection of rare, native, and unusual plants, supporting research, plant trials, and horticultural education while maintaining a focus on sustainability and habitat creation.
Juniper Level Botanic Garden is open to the public several times a year and continues to grow as a dynamic living collection with distinctive garden artistry and environmental stewardship.
