La Rocca di Staggia is one of the best-preserved medieval castles in Tuscany, located in the village of Staggia Senese between Siena and Florence.

Its origins date back to the 10th and 11th centuries, and it occupied a strategic position along the Via Francigena, the famous pilgrimage route that connected northern Europe with Rome. Over the centuries, the fortress was controlled by powerful noble families and later by the Republic of Florence, which strengthened its defenses during the long rivalry with Siena.

Major improvements were made in the 14th and 15th centuries, including works associated with the renowned architect Filippo Brunelleschi. Today, La Rocca di Staggia is a restored historic landmark known for its imposing stone walls, towers, and medieval atmosphere.
