Liliʻuokalani Botanical Garden in Honolulu, Hawaii, is a seven-acre garden that was once part of Queen Liliʻuokalani’s private estate and is situated along the Nuʻuanu Stream featuring the Waikahalulu Waterfall.
The last reigning monarch of Hawaiʻi purchased the property in 1884 and it was later donated to the City and County of Honolulu to be used as a park. It is dedicated to native Hawaiian plants and was carefully preserved to maintain a rural atmosphere while highlighting Hawaiʻi’s natural flora. The garden includes large specimen trees and water features and honors the legacy of Queen Liliʻuokalani with its serene landscape.
It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1993 and remains a peaceful, culturally significant green space in downtown Honolulu.
