Lincoln Park Conservatory
Chicago, Illinois, USA, United States
Lincoln Park Conservatory in Chicago's Lincoln Park neighborhood is a stunning Victorian-era glasshouse built between 1890 and 1895, designed by architect Joseph L. Silsbee to display exotic plants like tropical palms, ancient ferns, orchids, and seasonal flowers across its four main rooms: the Palm House, Fern Room, Orchid House, and Show House.
Located at 2391 N. Stockton Drive next to Lincoln Park Zoo, it replaced an earlier 1870s greenhouse to cultivate thousands of plants for city parks while offering visitors a lush escape year-round, complete with educational programs and a historic formal garden out front featuring sculptures like the Bates fountains.
Open daily with free admission (reservations recommended), it remains a beloved Chicago oasis managed by the Chicago Park District and Lincoln Park Conservancy.
