Mackenzie Castle is a striking neo-Gothic mansion in the Castelletto district of Genoa, built between 1893 and 1905 for Evan Mackenzie, a wealthy insurance entrepreneur.

Designed by the architect Gino Coppedè, the building combines medieval-inspired towers, ornate stonework, and Art Nouveau influences, making it one of Genoa’s most distinctive architectural landmarks. The castle was constructed on the site of an older villa and parts of the historic 16th-century city walls. After serving as the Mackenzie family residence, it passed through several owners, was declared a national monument in 1956, and later underwent extensive restoration.

Today, Mackenzie Castle is known for its richly decorated interiors, fairy-tale appearance, and panoramic position above the city. It serves as a venue for cultural events, exhibitions, and auctions, preserving its status as one of the finest examples of Gothic Revival architecture in Liguria.
