Mercer Botanic Gardens in Humble, Texas, is a 180-acre public botanical garden originally created by Thelma and Charles Mercer in the late 1940s who preserved native plants on their property.

Harris County purchased the land in 1974, expanding it significantly to include both formal gardens and natural areas. The gardens showcase a diverse collection of over 10,000 plants with themed sections such as a Prehistoric Garden, Tropical Garden, Herb Garden, Pollinator Garden, and Children's Garden, featuring water features like ponds and waterfalls. Mercer Botanic Gardens also operates a botanical center with an herbarium, seed bank, and educational resources focused on conservation.

The site was heavily damaged by flooding during Hurricane Harvey in 2017 but has since undergone renovations, including reopening the visitor center in 2023. It serves as an important horticultural and educational resource with free admission to the public.​
