Mickeln House
Düsseldorf, Germany, Germany
Mickeln House (Schloss Mickeln) in Düsseldorf's Himmelgeist district, Germany, is a neoclassical manor built in 1843 by architect Josef Niehaus as a summer residence for Duke Prosper Ludwig von Arenberg after the original Haus Mickeln—dating to 1210—was destroyed by fire in 1836.
The square Renaissance-inspired villa features identical facades on all sides, a pyramidal roof, and lime tree-framed entrance, set within a restored English landscape park designed by Maximilian Friedrich Weyhe with surviving cedars and beeches now part of EUROGA 2002 enhancements.
Since 2000, it serves as Heinrich Heine University's conference center and guesthouse with 19 rooms, blending historic charm with modern academic use while remaining a protected monument.
