Moj Garh Fort
Mauj Garh, Pakistan
Moj Garh Fort, located about 70 km from Bahawalnagar city in the Cholistan Desert of Punjab, Pakistan, was built by Emperor Maroof Khan Kehrani in 1743. Constructed with solid bricks and mud, it was adorned with glazed tiles and once featured a nearby dome about 400 yards south of the main structure.
Though much of the fort has collapsed over the years, significant portions of its exterior walls and interior structures remain visible.
The fort's square layout measures roughly 380 by 350 feet and is strengthened by semi-circular bastions, making it one of the largest forts in the Cholistan region. Preservation efforts have been initiated by the Desert Rangers to protect and rehabilitate this historic site, which reflects the Mughal architectural style and the military history of the region.
