Mondragone is a charming coastal town in the Campania region of Italy, located in the province of Caserta along the Tyrrhenian Sea. Its origins date back to ancient times with the Aurunci people and later as the Roman settlement of Sinuessa, famous for its thermal springs and as a spa destination.

The town's name likely comes from Drogone d’Altavilla or a local legend about a dragon on Monte Petrino. Mondragone’s medieval heritage is symbolized by the Rocca Montis Dragonis castle, built on Monte Petrino after an earthquake in 375 AD, which offers panoramic views of the area.

The town is known today for its beautiful sandy beaches with shallow waters, making it ideal for family tourism, as well as its production of renowned mozzarella campana DOP and Falerno del Massico DOC wine. Rich local traditions include the annual Festa di San Bartolomeo and food and music festivals that celebrate its cultural heritage.

Mondragone also preserves its history in the Civic Archaeological Museum, showcasing artifacts from prehistoric to medieval times.
