Narin Castle, also known as Naryn or Narenj Castle, is an ancient mud-brick fortress in Meybod, Yazd Province, Iran, believed to date back between 2,000 and 6,000 years, making it one of the world's oldest government citadels.

The castle stands about 40 meters tall and includes four towers and a unique ancient plumbing system. Archaeological evidence suggests it evolved through multiple periods—from the Elamite civilization to the Median and Sassanian eras—with parts rebuilt in the early Islamic period.

The fortress covers roughly three hectares and featured defensive walls, gates, rooms, towers, moats, and an extensive underground network used for securing water and supplies, underscoring its strength and strategic importance. Local legends attribute its construction to Solomon the Prophet as a treasure vault, although this is mythological.

Today, Narin Castle remains a symbol of Iran’s architectural ingenuity and history, with many original structures and complex underground passages intact, illustrating a legacy that spans several millennia.​
