Neustrelitz Castle Garden
Neustrelitz, Germany, Germany
Neustrelitz Castle Garden in Neustrelitz, Germany, is a historic landscape park originally laid out as a French Baroque garden between 1726 and 1732 by architect Christoph Julius Löwe, later redesigned in Versailles style under Duke Adolf Friedrich IV and extended into an English landscape garden in the mid-19th century by Peter Joseph Lenné.
Spanning elegant paths, fountains, antique sculpture copies, and magnificent vases, it features key structures like the 1821 Baroque temple marking the central axis, a classical memorial hall for Prussian Queen Louise with her Carrara marble statue copy, a neo-Gothic castle church, and a classicist orangery.
Though the central palace was demolished in 1945, the well-preserved garden remains a public gem for year-round strolls, including the scenic Götterallee with ancient deity figures.
