The Northern Plains Botanic Garden Society in Fargo, North Dakota, was founded in 1998 by North Dakota State University horticulturist Dr. Chiwon Lee along with dedicated community members.

The society operates a botanical garden located at Yunker Park, which includes four main gardens: the Edible Forest, Children's Garden, Japanese Garden, and Woodland Garden. This relatively new but growing garden offers a peaceful environment for visitors to enjoy diverse plantings, educational signage, and a butterfly garden bustling with monarch butterflies during appropriate seasons.

The garden is free and open to the public year-round, providing an important community space for horticultural education, family-friendly activities, and supporting local biodiversity through its plant collections and sustainable gardening practices. Volunteers and staff continue to develop and maintain the gardens, with several additional projects such as a planned Japanese garden expansion in progress.
