Oaks Amusement Park in Portland, Oregon, opened in 1905 as one of the oldest continually operating amusement parks in the United States. It was originally built by the Oregon Water Power and Railway Company to boost evening and weekend streetcar ridership and quickly became popular, attracting around 300,000 visitors in its first season.

The park features a blend of historic charm and modern attractions, including a classic wooden roller coaster called the Roller Coaster, dating back to 1912, as well as Ferris wheels, bumper cars, and a roller skating rink that has been in operation since the park’s inception. Over the years, Oaks Park offered diverse entertainment such as animal acts, outdoor movies, and live music.

Today, it remains a beloved family-friendly destination combining nostalgia with contemporary amusement rides and continues to operate as a nonprofit organization dedicated to preserving this piece of Portland’s history while providing affordable fun for all ages.
