Orto Botanico dell'Università dell'Aquila, also known as Orto Botanico di Collemaggio, is a botanical garden located near the Basilica di Collemaggio in L'Aquila, Italy.
Covering about 5.5 hectares on a hillside at approximately 720 meters above sea level, the garden hosts around 460 plant species, many of which are native to the Abruzzo region.
It was originally established in 1965 on a smaller area for educational and experimental purposes and later expanded in 1999 to include additional sections such as the "giardino della Transumanza," which commemorates the traditional livestock migration route.
The garden is managed as a regional site of interest and serves as a resource for botanical research, conservation, and environmental education, showcasing a diverse collection adapted to the local mountain climate.
