The Orto Botanico di Lucca is a historic botanical garden in the center of Lucca, founded in 1820 by Maria Luisa of Bourbon.
It covers about two hectares and is arranged in two main parts: one with the arboretum, pond, and open garden areas, and another with the school botanical section and greenhouses. The garden is meant to protect plant diversity, support research and teaching, and let visitors enjoy a calm green space with species from around the world as well as local flora.
