Otzberg Castle, known as Veste Otzberg, is a well-preserved medieval hill fortress crowning the 367-meter summit of Otzberg mountain in Germany's Odenwald forest near Otzberg village.

First documented in 1231 under Fulda Abbey's influence and manned by Burgmannen ministeriales, it endured sieges like the 1621-1622 Thirty Years' War event before serving as a Hesse-Darmstadt prison until 1826, when most structures were demolished except the iconic "White Turnip" keep, commandant's house, and a few outbuildings.

Today, managed by Hesse's state palaces, it offers public access with panoramic views, a youth hostel in the former barracks, a restaurant, and hiking trails linking it to the village of Hering below. The squat white tower dominates the skyline, symbolizing centuries of strategic control over the region.
