Palazzo D’Avalos in Montesarchio is a 17th century noble residence built by the Spanish d’Avalos family, who ruled the area as princes of Montesarchio from the 16th century until the end of the feudal era.

They moved their residence from the old castle to this more modern palace in the town’s commercial center, reflecting the family’s growing political and economic influence in the Kingdom of Naples. The palace is closely associated with Prince Andrea d’Avalos, who helped transform Montesarchio into an important regional center during the 17th century.

Facing the main market square, the building features a large loggia and elegant halls that once displayed rich fresco decorations. Later, the palace passed to the De Bellis family. Although some of its interior artworks were damaged during World War II, it remains one of Montesarchio’s most significant historic buildings and a reminder of the town’s aristocratic past. The palace is privately owned and is not generally open to the public.
