Partistagno Castle
Italy, Italy
Partistagno Castle is a medieval fortress located on a hill above the village of Borgo Faris in the municipality of Attimis, in the Friuli Venezia Giulia region.
Built around the year 1000, it served for centuries as a strategic stronghold controlling important routes through the area and was owned by several noble families, including the Counts of Attems and the Cucagna di Partistagno family.
Over time, the castle was abandoned and fell into ruin, but restoration efforts have preserved its most important remains, including the keep, a noble chapel dedicated to Saint Oswald, and parts of the medieval palace. Today, the site is valued for its historical significance, scenic setting, and remarkable medieval architecture.
