Rancia Castle, known in Italian as Castello della Rancia, is a well-preserved medieval fortress located near Tolentino in the Marche region of Italy.

Its origins date back to the late 12th century, when it served as a fortified granary for the Cistercian monks of the nearby Fiastra Abbey before being transformed into a military stronghold in the 14th century by the Varano family. The castle has a distinctive square layout with battlemented walls, corner towers, a central courtyard, and a tall keep that once played a key defensive role.

Over time, its military importance declined, and it was later used for agricultural purposes and as a shelter for pilgrims traveling to Rome. Rancia Castle is also famous for its connection to the Battle of Tolentino in 1815, a significant conflict during the Napoleonic Wars. Today, it is one of the symbols of Tolentino, valued for its impressive architecture, rich history, and cultural events that bring the medieval fortress to life for visitors.
