Rocca Costanza is a Renaissance fortress in the historic center of Pesaro, in Italy’s Marche region.

Built between 1474 and 1483 by order of Costanzo Sforza, the ruler of Pesaro, it was designed as a key part of the city’s defensive system and is considered one of the finest examples of Renaissance military architecture in Italy. The fortress features a square layout with four massive round towers connected by sturdy walls, creating a striking and well-preserved appearance.

Over the centuries, it passed from the Sforza family to the Papal States and was later used as a prison from 1864 until 1989. Today, Rocca Costanza is one of Pesaro’s most important landmarks. After restoration work, it has become a venue for cultural events, exhibitions, concerts, and performances, allowing visitors to experience both its rich history and impressive architecture.
