Rocca di Orino is an ancient hilltop fortress located above the village of Orino in Lombardy, overlooking the Valcuvia valley.

Its origins are believed to date back to ancient times, possibly as a Roman or early medieval lookout point, while the first documented references to the fortress appear in the 12th century. Throughout the Middle Ages, the fortress played an important defensive role due to its strategic position controlling routes through the region.

It was involved in conflicts between local powers, later came under Visconti influence, and eventually lost its military importance as political borders shifted. After periods of occupation and decline, parts of the structure were restored in the early 20th century. Today, Rocca di Orino is admired for its imposing walls, towers, and spectacular views of the surrounding mountains and valleys.
