Rocca di San Salvatore Telesino is the ruined remains of a medieval fortress that stands on a hill overlooking the Telesina Valley in Campania, Italy.

Built in the 13th century by the powerful Sanframondo family, it served as a strategic stronghold for controlling and defending their extensive territories in the region. During the Middle Ages, a settlement known as Massa Superiore developed around the fortress. After the devastating earthquake of 1349 destroyed nearby ancient Telesia, local bishops took refuge in the fortress, which became known as the “Rocca De Episcopio” and gained religious as well as military importance.

The fortress was eventually abandoned as political and population centers shifted elsewhere. Today, only parts of its walls and cylindrical corner towers survive, but the ruins remain a prominent landmark, offering visitors a glimpse into the region’s medieval history and impressive views across the surrounding countryside.
