Established in 1822 as the English landscape park for the Romberg family's Schloss Brünninghausen, it was designed by the renowned court gardener Maximilian Friedrich Weyhe. The park features an arboretum with thousands of tree species, including some of the tallest and rarest trees in North Rhine-Westphalia, as well as a terrace with palm trees and four greenhouses housing cacti, succulents, tropical plants, and camellias.
