Ruine „Burg Argenschwang / Rosenburg“
Argenschwang, Germany, Germany
Ruine Burg Argenschwang, also known as Rosenburg, is a 12th-century ruined hill castle on a steep spur above Argenschwang in Germany's Bad Kreuznach district, Rhineland-Pfalz, at about 295 meters elevation near the Gräfenbach valley.
Founded by the Counts of Sponheim with first documentary mention in 1195 and pledged to Simon von Argenschwang (an illegitimate Sponheim heir) in 1332, it later passed to the Lords of Leyen before French destruction around 1793.
Today privately owned remnants include a 17th-century gatehouse (now a wedding venue), ring walls, bastion-like structures, and palas foundations, visible from trails though interior access requires permission.
