Sandbore Caye
Belize, Belize
Sandbore Caye is a small island in Lighthouse Reef Atoll, about 50 miles (80 km) off the coast of Belize, making it one of the country’s northernmost and easternmost landmasses.
It covers about 10 acres of white sand and low vegetation, including coconut palms, and features a prominent lighthouse built in the late 19th century that is still maintained by a keeper and family. The caye sits directly on the Belize Barrier Reef and is known for its clear waters, good snorkeling and diving around nearby coral formations, and its remote, low‑development character, with no hotels or restaurants on the island and access only by boat.
